Simple Present Tense Formula.

The formula of the simple present is very simple and easy.

(Subject + 1st verb + s, es, ies, + object.)

When using singular nouns and pronouns such as “he,” “she,” “it” or a single noun the verb’s base form requires adding either “s,” “es,” or “ies” to the end of the word.

For example:

  1. He plays football.
  2. She walks on the road.
  3. It cries in the cage.
  4. Kamran walks over there.

Conversely, when the subject is plural, using “they,” “we,” or “you,” we do not add any endings such as “s,” “es,” or “ies” to the base form of the verb.

(Subject + 1st verb + object + time words)

For example:

  1. We play football.
  2. They watch the movie at night.
  3. you sing a song.

Note: The simple tense formula can be a bit difficult but no worries follow this formula.
