What is an alphabet?

Alphabet is the initial element of the English Language which is used to create words, sentences, speeches, and conversations. There are 26 letters in the English alphabet. These 26 characters are parts of the English alphabet. These characters are placed in  fixed order/ sequence from a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i, j, k, l, m, n, o, p, q, r, s, t, u, v, w, x, y, and z.

The word alphabet is taken from two different languages.

From Late Latin alphabētum, from Greek alphabētos, so it is the combination of two letters
of Greek like alpha, and beta. 
So the nature of the alphabet is a noun:  alphabet: noun. It is
a countable noun that can be counted. There are many other alphabets, but the English
language has only one. In the English, there are 26 letters.

So, if the letters are placed in the same order and sequence we call it an alphabet, but if they are
used in dis-order or individually we call them letters.

There are two kinds of letters.

Letters are the parts of the English. The number of letters is 26. While writing we
follow capitalization and punctuation. So according to capitalization, there
are two kinds of letters. Small letters and capital letters.

Capital letters:

A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z. 

These are called capital letters which are mostly used at the beginning of words and
sentences. A complete word cannot be all capital words: like “BOOK” we needed to write it like this “Book”. These are the terms that we follow in sentences and conversations.

Small letters:

 (a b c d e f g h I j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y z.) The rule of capitalization is really necessary while making words.  

The letter consists of two main things.

Consonant and vowel.

1.     Consonant: Of 26 letters 21 of them are consonants. (b c d f g h j k l m n p q r s t v w x y z.) They are the characters from consonants. They are the voiced words that have a specific pronunciation flow. Whenever we pronounce consonants the voice won’t come directly from our lungs. There will be hurdles or restrictions in the sound. Like when we pounce the letter “b” the lips will stop the air. It means lips are restricting the voice. Or if we pronounce the letter ‘d’ the tongue will stop the air. Like these, all the consonant letters have some hurdles when we pronounce them.

2. vowels:

Vowels(a,e,i,o,u,)

A, e, i, o, u They are called vowels. which are un-voiced. In addition. when we pronounce vowels there won’t be any restriction. The sound of air will come directly from the lungs. Not our tongues or lips are connected. So vowels are syllabic. They create syllables. For instance: “speak” This word creates 1 syllable. “beautiful” The word beautiful creates 3 syllables. ‘beau’, ‘ti’ and ‘full‘.
