Future continuous tense | Definition, formula

Tense which means time in this article we study future continuous tense. Future does not mean present or past. It refers to a period after now means coming time.

Future continuous tense

Let’s put a glance over the table. Where I have explained the meaning of the future continuous tense. if you want to learn grammar for a long period you need to know the meaning of the grammar first. while we get the meaning of it then it will be very easy for us. so, let’s have a quick view of the table where it is illustrated.

Future means upcoming time. Which starts now.Ongoing action is in progress.Time, period, or age.  

Future continuous tense definition:

It indicates a continued or ongoing action in the future or upcoming time.

e.g.

  • I will be giving you the money tomorrow.

In this sentence, an upcoming continuous action is expressed which is supposed to happen in tomorrow.

Important things to remember.

We use will + be in this tense.

for instance:

  1. I will be sending you the details.
  2. We will be learning English grammar.
  3. She will be finding the question.
  4. They will be notifying you by email.
  5. He will not be having any further details.

Future continuous tense formula

1) Positive formula/structure.

Subject + helping verb will + be + base form of the verb(ing) + object/complement.

e.g.

  • He will be fixing the fan.
  • She will be feeling well.
  • They will be driving fast.
  • You will be riding the horse in the park.
  • I will be cleaning the grass.

2) Negative formula/structure.

Subject +will + not + be + base form of the verb + ing + object/complement.

  • He will not be fixing the fan.
  • She will not be feeling well.
  • They will not be driving fast.
  • You will not be riding the horse in the park.
  • I will not be cleaning the grass.

3) Interrogative formula/structure.

Helping verb “Will” +subject + be + base form of the verb + ing + object/complement.

  • Will he be fixing the fan?
  • Will she be feeling well?
  • Shall we be cooking food?
  • Will they be driving fast?
  • Will you be riding the horse in the park?

4) Negative-interrogative formula/structure.

will +not +subject + be+verb (ing)+object.

  1. Will not he be fixing the fan?
  2. Will not she be feeling well?
  3. Shall not we be cooking food?
  4. Will not they be driving fast?
  5. Will not you be riding the horse in the park?

Note: In future continuous tense we don’t use negative-interrogative structure because it looks a bit awkward, but grammatically it is correct.
